Coins for Change were an annual virtual charity in Club Penguin Rewritten that encouraged penguins to donate their coins to various booths and stands located around the island to three different causes. The resulting distribution determines which percentages of real money that selected charities would receive. It was usually held in December during Holiday Parties.

How It Worked[]

Each year, there would be a set amount of real money that would be donated to real life charities and organizations. Usually, there were three categories to choose from:

  • Medical Help
  • Protect the Earth
  • Building Homes

Penguins could donate to any of the three causes above. At the end of each Coins for Change, there would be a percentage assigned to each cause that showed how many of the total number of the coins were donated to that specific cause. That percentage would then determine how much of the real life money would be given to each selected charity.

Example[]

There was 100 dollars that will be donated in total to selected organizations. At the end of the Coins for Change, there wouod be 1,000,000 coins donated, distributed as:

  • Medical Help: 300,000 coins (30%)
  • Protect the Earth: 250,000 coins (25%)
  • Building Homes: 450,000 coins (45%)

Thus, 45% of the 100 dollars would be donated to Building Homes (45 dollars), while Protect the Earth would receive 25% (25 dollars), and Medical Help would receive the last 30% (30 dollars).

History[]
