  • The Recon originally had the drawings from Sector 2 on the whiteboard and the Herbert practice targets had a lighter color palette. In the final release, the whiteboard is blank and the Herbert practice targets have a darker color palette. The music for the room was also originally going to be three seconds longer.
  • The Coffee Shop was supposed to receive a redesign like the Pizza Parlor according to devcast.[23] It would have featured a pool table where players could play competitive pool with each other.[24]
  • The Hidden Dojo Room had some differences in its sketch concept art such as there being three seats to the left instead of two.[25]
  • The Dojo Pathway emblem in the gazebo originally had color, but was changed to brown to blend better.[26] The sketch concept art of the room also showed some differences such as a barrel being next to the door instead of a plant.
  • The Serene Springs had a ton of key differences in its concept art versus the final version. Some differences include a sign where you could adopt a Grey Puffle, the ninja puffle on the top left and the stone puffle on the right of the waterfall were missing, and the walkway and water had a different look.
  • The Welcome Room notice board was planned to usable. It would have given players news and updates about the game.[27]

  • The Culdesac was scrapped due to it not fitting with the 2010 Club Penguin art style the team wanted.[28] It featured entrances to the Mall and Hospital.
  • The Mall was scrapped due to it not fitting with the 2010 Club Penguin art style the team wanted. It was going to coexist with the Stage.
  • The Hospital was scrapped due to it not fitting with the 2010 Club Penguin art style the team wanted. It reused some elements of Operation: Blackout's Lighthouse design.
  • The Water Dojo was a room where you could play Card-Jitsu Water. It was meant to be released in November 2019 along with the game, but was postponed and later cancelled.
  • The Tour Building was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down. It was meant to be the building on the right in the Welcome Room.
  • The Baseball Stadium was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down. It would have been added to the cycle between the Ice Rink and the Stadium.[29]
  • The School was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down. It would have been located to the left of the Ice Rink/Stadium/Baseball Stadium.[30]

  • Dojo Courtyard Solo was a solo version of the Dojo Courtyard and was found in the global crumbs and later room crumbs files.
  • Pool was found in the global crumbs and later room crumbs files. It is unknown if it was a copy of the Underground Pool or a separate room.
  • coffe resembled the Shamrock Pin in the Coffee Shop. It was found in the game's files.
  • party28 was a party room that resembled the Town after the 2012 redesign from the original Club Penguin and was found in the game's files. It was later used for the School during the Medieval Party 2020.
  • pizza_ was identical to the normal Pizza Parlor before the redesign. It was found in the game's files.
  • pizza_HP_BROKEN resembled the Christmas Party 2018, Holiday Party 2019, and Holiday Party 2020 Pizza Parlor. It was found in the game's files.

    • Games[]

    • Card-Jitsu had blank unused Card-Jitsu Cards SWF's files with custom IDs of 148, 171, 175, 184, 390, and 494. It was also supposed to get a leaderboard, but didn't because of Club Penguin Rewritten temporarily shutting down.[31]
    • Ice Fishing revamp originally had a different design for the number of bait the player has. It also had unused sprites for the animation of the Rare Mullet being caught found in the game's .swf file. The game instead used the regular Mullet's sprites for when the rare mullet was caught.
    • Dance Contest was supposed to get new tracks, but it was scrapped because of technical issues.[32]
    • Sled Racing was confirmed to get stamps on August 30, 2018[33] and was delayed to September 6, 2018[34] according to the Club Penguin Times. Sled Racing's leaderboard from the Penguin Games was also set to come back.[35]
    • Hydro-Hopper was supposed to receive a redesign in the future according to devcast along with stamps.[36]
    • Jet Pack Adventure was supposed to receive a redesign in the future according to devcast.[37]
    • Pufflescape had an earlier unused version of the game's icon found in the Pet Shop's .swf file.

  • Card-Jitsu Water was supposed to come in November 2019, but was delayed due to time constraints.[38] It was later planned to be ported over to HTML5, but was cancelled due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.[39]
  • Competitive Pool was planned to be included along with a redesigned Coffee Shop, but was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.

  • Penguin Style Mar'18 was going to be released in March 2018, but was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten temporarily shutting down. It would have featured the Green Fedora, Green Zippered Hoodie, and Clover Basket.[41]

    Puffles[]

    • The Grey Puffle originally had a darker shade of gray, no eyebrows, and it was sleeping in its icon in its first concept art.[43] In Rainbert's concept art for the puffle, it was revealed that the puffle was going to have a slightly different tongue color, different descriptions in the Adopt A Puffle catalog, and animations for playing and bathing were different. For the description, its attitude was originally: "Calm, Compassionate, Humble", its favorite toy was originally yarn and a rocking horse, and it's cool fact was originally: "Can disappear, leaving a trail of smoke behind." For its play action, the training dummy the puffle fights originally resembled a walrus and a polar bear, but was changed to resemble Octi instead. For its bathing animation, it was originally going to be the puffle bathing in a square bathtub with a paper screen behind it, but was changed to incorporate the gardening aspect of the puffle.[44] For its angry animation, the grey puffle was originally going to hiss, but was changed to it reading a newspaper instead.[45]

  • The Gold Puffle was supposed to appear in April 2017, but was scrapped. It would've been available from the Quest for the Golden Puffle play.[46] It was shown in a deleted What's New Blog post and Club Penguin Rewritten's Twitter even held a poll asking people if they wanted it to be added with 63% saying yes. When it was hacked into the game, it was shown that it reused the Orange Puffle's puffle card and the Red Puffle's animations for playing, eating, and cleaning. However, it had its own sleeping animation.[47] This is because it was still early in development. It was later planned to be released in HTML5, but was cancelled due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.[48]
  • The Rainbow Puffle was developed as a concept, but was never released.[49] When it was hacked into the game, it was shown that it reused the Orange Puffle's puffle card and the Blue Puffle's animations for playing, sleeping, eating, and cleaning. This is because it was still early in development. It was later planned to be released in HTML5 for Pride Month[50], but was cancelled due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.[51]
  • The Maroon Puffle was found in the local crumbs file. It is unknown if it was ever planned to be released.
  • The Ghost Puffle was found in the decrypted puffle file.[52] It is unknown if it was ever planned to be released.
  • Puffle Creatures were planned to added by the Puffle Hats system, however it was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.[53]

    • It was shown in devcast that the Forest and the Great Puffle Circus Entrance originally used The Fair 2011's design from Club Penguin and the Prize Booth at the Forest used The Fair 2012's design as placeholders for the rooms and booth.[60] They were changed in the final release.
    • The Pizza Parlor was originally going to be a custom version of the room from The Fair 2011, but instead it remained unchanged from that party.[61]
    • Spin To Win was planned to appear, but was scrapped because of time constraints.[62]
    • The Global Prizes was originally going to be daily login rewards, but was changed to rewards players can receive when a certain amount of tickets were obtained.[63]

    Halloween Party 2018[]

    • The Box Dimension was supposed to be decorated during the party, but it was scrapped.[64]
    • Dot was originally supposed to appear during the party and have a new background, but didn't because of time constraints.

    Island Eclipse[]

    • It was originally going to be affiliated with an EPF operation, but was scrapped.[65]

    • The map was going to be updated, however it was scrapped because it couldn't be completed on time.[66]

    • Magic Quest was originally called Enchanted Quest and was supposed to have a maze, but was scrapped due to time constraints.[71]
    • The Dragon Queen originally didn't follow the player during the boss fight.
      • She also has unused attack where she would slam her two fists into the ground according to Screenhog's sketches.
    • Stu was originally going to voice the Dragon Queen, but didn't because of Joee.[72]

    Summer Luau 2019[]

    • It was originally going to have only a few rooms decorated, but the team decided to add Water Party 2017 rooms due to community suggestions.[73]
    • The Pizza Parlor went through 2 designs before being released.[74] One of the designs can be found in the game's files and was later used for the Water Party 2020.

    The Fair 2019[]

    • It was shown in a video promoting the party that The Migrator was originally not docked at the Beach. It also showed that Spin To Win was originally called Grab & Spin when hovered over.[75]
    • It was originally going to be combined with the Halloween Party, but was scrapped due to not everyone on the team being on board with it. The Mine Shack was also supposed to decorated after a haunted theme park, but was scrapped.[76]
    • The Bumper Car Bonus originally didn't have a Cream Soda barrel, hay on the top left, and a sign pointing to the Bonus Games Room. The Feed Fluffy Trashcan also originally had balloons attached to it.[77]
    • There was supposed to be new content during the second week, but it was scrapped to focus on the upcoming party.[78]
    • The Beach was originally going to have a rollercoaster instead of a slide.[79]

    Club Penguin 14th Anniversary Party[]

    • Originally, the glass box in the Coffee Shop that has Screenhog's logo in it was originally going to be a picture frame of either a cherry blossom tree or Arctic Blue, Pink, and Arctic White penguins.[80]
    • The Coffee Shop's walls, counter, the bow tied to the counter, and carpet went through several designs before the final release.[81]

    • The homepage originally didn't have balloons, the snowman next to the Lighthouse, or the penguin snow angels.[85]

    • It was originally planned to be a two week party with new content for the second week, but it ended up only being one week.[87]
    • Screenhog composed a track for the party that ended up being unused.

    • It was originally planned to be a one room event, taking place in the Mine Shack. However, after hearing feedback from the community, the Town and Plaza were decorated as well.[89]

    Fashion Party[]

    • It was originally planned to be much bigger and would have included more custom rooms and a feature to show off your outfits.[90]
    • The script ["parties20.fashion.voting_ui"] = "content/voting_ui.swf?contentVersion=" was discovered in the global crumbs files suggesting that players were originally going to vote for contestants during the Fashion Contest, but was scrapped for unknown reasons.
      • The .swf file mentioned in the script does not exist.

    Penguin Play Awards 2020[]

    • It was originally going to have more elements of the Hollywood Party from the original Club Penguin with a night sky.[91][92]

    Summer Bash[]

    • The Cove was originally designed to be a "Farewell Party" for Club Penguin Rewritten but was ultimately changed to "Summer Bash".[93]

    Music Jam 2020[]

    • Former administrator hagrid released a Twitter thread on June 13, 2020 depicting the original plans for Music Jam 2020.
      • The Music Jam 2020 Interface originally had a different design and featured a concert schedule. The All Access Pass would have also been obtained through this.
      • The logo went through several designs before the final one was chosen. One of the logos showed that the party was originally meant to be called Music Jam: Beach Party.
      • The map originally had a different design.
      • There were plans for a river to flow through the Town and Snow Forts.
      • The Beach, Iceberg, Dock, Snow Forts, Mine Shack, Town, Back Stage, and Plaza had different designs.
      • There was supposed to be an interactive Concert Hall called the Snowball Dome with performances by Cadence, DJ Maxx, Dubstep Puffle, and the Penguin Band.
        • Taking the fact that multiple flashing images and effects were going to be used, there would have been a pop-up alert warning players about the potential risk of triggering animations.
        • The songs that were going to be performed were: "The Party Starts Now", "The Party Starts Now Remix", "Anchors Aweigh", "Ghosts Just Wanna Dance", "Cool in the Cold" and "Dubstep Puffle".
          • For "The Party Starts Now" segment, Cadence would have been joined by four backup dancers; Lucy, Rosie, Jordyn, and Alice.
      • Out of the original plans, only the Concert Hall Emotes were added to the final party.
        • The Ocean Blue cheering and clapping emotes were found in the interface.swf, but are unused in-game as a result of a bug.

    • The Town originally had a different design before being released.[95]
    • The School concept art had some key differences versus the final version. Some differences include a banner that says "Go Knights", a cream soda barrel near the wall, an extra plate on the top right table, wands on the left tables, and the pizzas being more detailed.[96]

    Halloween Party 2020[]

    • The Forest originally had stepping stones on the walkway to the Mansion Entrance and the trees in the background were more exposed.[97]
    • The Graveyard originally did not have a giant grave in the middle and leaves on the ground.[98]
    • The animation of the Zombie biting your penguin in the Graveyard was slightly different and was changed because the team felt like it looked like the zombie was kissing you.[99]

    Holiday Party 2020[]

    • The scripts ["parties20.holiday.dialogues_01"] = "content/party_dialogue_01.swf?contentVersion" and ["parties20.holiday.bakery_locked"] = "close_ups/bakery_locked.swf?contentVersion=" were found in the global crumbs files suggesting that there was going to be a dialogue when you first logged in similar to the one during the Holiday Party 2019, but was scrapped. It also suggests that the Bakery was planned to be open later during the party just like during the Holiday Party 2019.

    • A custom pin was supposed to be released with the party, but was later scrapped due to the community member who suggested it being banned.[101]

    • The files for the rooms were accidentally deleted during the development, which caused the team to have to remake the rooms from scratch with slight changes.[102]
    • The Arcade was going to be decorated during the event, however it was scrapped.[103]

  • The Penguin Prom was going to be an event in June 2018, but was scrapped because the team thought it would be too inappropriate.[118]
  • Second Waddle On Party was developed as a concept by Hagrid.[119]
  • Graduation Party 2019 was going to be an event in 2019, but was scrapped.[120]
  • The Great Storm of 2019 was going to be an event in October 2019 and was supposed to take place before the Halloween Party 2019, but was scrapped due to time constraints.[121]
  • Camp Penguin was going to be a party in June 2020, but was scrapped.[122] It would have incorporated elements from Adventure Parties.[123]
  • Superhero Party was going to be a party in July 2020, but was scrapped.
  • Penguin Games 2020 was going to be a party in August 2020 and would have incorporated the Olympics, but was scrapped due to the Olympics being cancelled that year and not having enough people to work on the party.[124]
  • Card-Jitsu Party 2020 was a possible party in November 2020 that was considered to be the main party of the month, but was scrapped. Joee was also planning on exploring the lore of Sensei's brother during the party.[125]
  • Operation: Swarm was going to an EPF operation party in December 2020, but was cancelled due to it conflicting with the Holiday Party 2020. There were plans to bring it over to HTML5 in 2021/2022, but it never happened due to the shutdown.
  • New Year's Day 2021 was going to be an event in December 2020, but was scrapped due Club Penguin Rewritten's transition to HTML5.[126]
  • Hollywood Party was going to be a party in April 2022, but was scrapped due to Club Penguin Rewritten shutting down.

    • The game was originally planned to be just a site where players could archive their accounts from the original Club Penguin. This idea was later changed after the Beta Test Party came out.[136]
    • Item Transfer was originally planned to allow players to also transfer clothing items and puffles.[137]
    • Card-Jitsu was planned to be included in the Club Penguin Rewritten Improvement Project, but was scrapped.[138]
    • A new EPF mission system was supposed to be released shortly after February 2018, but didn't due to Club Penguin Rewritten temporarily shutting down.[139]
    • Two-factor authentication was supposed to be released in November 2018 along with the Padlock Pin, but didn't because of Card-Jitsu Fire development.[140]
    • There's an unused sprite of a white box and a penguin's head next to it found in the earlier versions of the updated Buddy List HTML5 .swf files. It's unknown what its purpose would have been.
    • Another new redesign for the website by Flippy was planned in 2019, but was scrapped for unknown reasons. It would have included a redesigned login prompt for the Community page, a profile page for your penguin, more interactive version of the Penguin Polls, redesigned comments on blog posts, a new look for the Create a Penguin page, and a redesigned homepage.[141]
    • Hagrid was originally going to develop the HTML5 client, but could not finish it in time, so the team hired Gravix instead.[142]
    • There were plans to add predictive text to the chat box, however it was scrapped.[143]
